Recipes From The Steampunk World Of Industralia

Steamed and SteamyThe quasi-Victorian era world of Industralia came into existence through a series of fiction books (The Brassbright Chronicles) and a smattering of short stories for kids (The Legends and Adventures of Industralia), all written by Lori Alden Holuta. Throughout these stories, one common theme emerged – a love of food! It became a fun project to gather in all the meals, drinks and snacks enjoyed by the characters in the books. Quotations from the stories highlight the recipes throughout the cookbook, along with a happy scattering of vintage graphic artwork.

This ‘novel’ cookbook is available in paperback at Amazon.

The fictional country of Industralia is populated with creative eccentrics, high-flying airship crews, dazed automatons, brilliantly cracked inventors, adventurous explorers, mischievous kids and more. What they all have in common is a love of food. Breakfast, especially. Well, not the automatons, of course, though many of those serve as waiters or other food service workers. To be born in Industralia is to be born a foodie. This cookbook was inevitable. Within these pages you’ll learn how to cook many of Industralia’s favorite foods, from breakfast right on through to late night snacks. You’ll even learn how to make some traditional “Coal Week” holiday treats.
