Happy Birthday to Me! CocoaJava Turns Eleven

When I first created CocoaJava eleven (yes, eleven!) years ago, I had no idea it would still be going strong to this day. I also had no idea how big it would grow! I can still recall the day I bought the domain name. I was rather amused that the date fell on the Ides of March.  While Julius Caesar may have been warned to “Beware the Ides of March”,  CocoaJava seems to have had better luck.

Last year I began seriously contemplating how best to bring CocoaJava into the present day. It had been looking a bit tired, and had become very difficult to maintain.  I admit I hesitated quite a while due to the sheer volume of articles, links, recipes, stories, poetry and other various and sundry pages of content that would need to be cleaned up, analyzed, and converted to a new structure.
But sadly, procrastination didn’t solve the problem. I finally decided to convert to a WordPress-based website in order to take advantage of the gazillion plugins and widgets that could be used to make my life, and perhaps yours, a little easier.
If you want to read more details about the site remodeling, check the “What’s New at CocoaJava?” page, which will stay accessible from the top menu bar.  I’ll use that page to keep you updated on anything new in the future, so poke it now and then to see what’s going on.
Some of you reading this have been with me since the beginning, and have sent me many words of encouragement through the years.  I’ve watched as more than a few of you have started up your own businesses, and I was happy to be able to shine a spotlight on those ventures. Occasionally I’ve been gifted with samples of coffee and chocolate, and on one occasion, a four foot tall rather crazy looking but marvelous coffee maker. You wonderful people have given me a lot of joy, and I thank you all!
It’s been a fun ride so far! I’m ready for another eleven years.  How about you?
Ms. CocoaJava

Freeze them. Hide them at the back of the freezer. The week of Independence Day, make a lightly-vanilla ice cream base. Take the cookies out, and immediately drop the box on the floor. Add to ice cream.
